Singing In The Rain

This piece is part of my brand new collection of mini paintings aiming to capture the endless array of emotions I’ve experienced since becoming a mama. I’ve thrown everything but the kitchen sink at these paintings which includes expressive pencil scribbles that reflect the myriad of emotions you feel in the weeks and months after giving birth, playful and surprising colour combinations that capture the utter joy and euphoria you feel in this bubble and an abundance of organic shapes that have naturally been inspired by my daily seaside walks with baby in tow. 

Singing In The Rain captures the feeling of celebrating and choosing positivity even when faced with something that could be perceived as challenging. Having the audacity to sing and dance in the rain perfectly reflects embracing the chaos of motherhood. This painting features deep, moody blues including navy, cobalt and slate against vibrant pops of neon pink, warm oranges and corals.
